How we source it
Steel is quoted against the standard you build to and the heat you can certify — we confirm grade, dimensional tolerance and surface condition before pricing, and supply the mill certificate per heat number so the fabricator's traceability record is intact. Where the section you specified carries a long mill lead time, we quote the nearest available equivalent alongside it with the property comparison.
Structural Steel & Plates — frequently asked
- Do plates and sections come with mill test certificates?
- Yes — EN 10204 3.1 certificates per heat number as standard, correlated to the marking on the material so the fabricator can maintain traceability through cutting and welding.
- Can you supply cut-to-length or profile-cut material?
- Yes. Send the cutting list or DXF and we quote material cut to size, which usually reduces both freight and fabrication-shop scrap compared with buying standard lengths.
- What if the exact section is not available?
- We quote the nearest available section with a property comparison — section modulus, moment of inertia and mass — so your engineer can accept or reject the substitution on evidence rather than take it on trust.
